Meet Adrienne

  • I have 20 + years of clinical experience supporting people as they create positive changes in their lives. I have walked alongside so many people as they cultivate meaning, possibility, and change during times of transition and adversity. This is a privilege and honour that I hold with gratitude and deep care. I have worked extensively with survivors of trauma/abuse; post-secondary students; children/youth with mental illness; adults experiencing stress/mental illness; and families experiencing behavioural challenges with their children. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work, and continue to engage in postgraduate training. My profound love of learning finds its way into my sessions to support clients in their growth, and has deepened my understanding of my inner world, allowing me to show up more authentically personally and professionally.

I have witnessed transformation and growth in the lives of clients, and in my own life. I overcome adversity through connection, humour, mindfulness, deep inner listening in my own therapeutic process, and by continuing to prioritize my emotional well being. My greatest joy is my relationships with family and friends. Laughter can be the best medicine, and I am grateful to have people in my life that also appreciate this, and that laugh with me rather than at me (well mostly -grin-). I find my zen place around water and by getting out in the sunshine. As a busy mom, I am always working to prioritize exercise, as even a few minutes of movement each day benefits my mind, body and spirit.

  • My approach involves guiding you to connect to your innate healing capacity, paving the way to lasting change, and increased inner harmony. In the work we do together, it is my role to guide you in becoming re-acquainted with your strengths, resilience, and resources, by tapping into your deeply compassionate self. Experience is a teacher, and it has demonstrated to me time and time again that ALL people have within them the capacity for healing.

Each person has unique healing needs so I draw from a wide array of approaches. As my learning has deepened, coupled with neuroscience breakthroughs in the field of trauma, I increasingly practice from an Internal Family Systems framework, while integrating other modalities of healing into my work with clients.

My professional training includes: Internal Family Systems Informed Approach, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Relational Intelligence, Interactive Drawing Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychology, Trauma-Informed Stabilization Therapy, and Mindfulness practices. Central to all approaches, is the practice of bringing mindful self-compassion to your inner world.

What can you expect from me in sessions? A kind and compassionate presence, patience, connection, sense of humour, and tonnes of curiousity to gently explore, find meaning, and create new pathways as you heal and face what has been causing you distress. We work to find a pathway that is suited to you, at your pacing. I also bring enduring hope and perseverance, as I have seen remarkable transformations throughout my time walking alongside clients. There is always hope even in the darkest corners.

  • You may wonder why there are pictures of Ferns on the website, and how they relate to therapy work. Many years ago, I had the opportunity to work and live in New Zealand, and while there I had the privilege to learn about Maori culture (New Zealand’s Indigenous People). The Silver Fern or Koru, which means loop in Maori language, represents new life, growth, resilience, peace, tranquility, harmony, positive change, and awakening. To me, it beautifully symbolizes what is possible when you embark on your own therapeutic process. It is a constant reminder to me of all that we carry within that is waiting to unfold despite the challenges we encounter. I look forward to working with you as you discover and unfold all of your gifts.

Meet Danielle

  • My deep rooted passion for mental health was fueled by my career in psychological health and safety. However, it was never enough to fulfill my desire to directly support people in times of need.

Now married with children, my resolve to walk alongside individuals as they sort through life’s challenges has only strengthened. Being a partner and parent in the busyness of life has deepened my empathy and compassion, and my commitment to tending to my relationships and myself.

I use laughter to lighten my darkest days and hope that together we can discover how to lighten your load.

I have always been passionate about the story and inherent resilience each person carries. Whether it be a stranger on the bus, a friend, a family member, or you - I stop, listen, and open myself to the words of others and their experiences. I look forward to learning your story, and walking together to create deeper meaning in your journey.

  • Therapy is a unique journey, no two experiences will ever be the same, nor should they. Building a strong therapeutic relationship, my goal is to tailor evidence-based modalities to your specific needs, ensuring holistic client centred care. With a keen passion for studying family systems, and how interpersonal relationships impact our inner world, I am committed to supporting individuals and families as they achieve personal growth.

I am a student in Yorkville University’s Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology, and a Master of Science in Biomechanics from Wilfrid Laurier University. This unique interdisciplinary perspective inspires the interplay between mental health, physical well-being, and holistic care that is embedded into my practice. Using trauma informed care we will work together to help you find your inner resilience and emotional wellness.

With compassion and professionalism, I create safe, supportive spaces for those seeking someone to Listen Deeply.

  • Our journey of self-discovery is never-ending. I often find myself seeking symbolism to anchor myself, and those around me. Recently I began to explore  a symbol that has been with me since birth- my birthstone, the peridot.  Leaning into my own journey of self-discovery, I began to find deep personal meaning here.

The peridot represents light and positivity. It is believed the peridot has healing qualities, specifically in relation to calming the mind and reducing stress. The peridot is associated emotional balance and compassion, bringing abundance and happiness.

As I read about peridot, I realized so much of my passion and conviction are embodied in the symbolism of this stone. These are qualities I have sought out, and continue to seek. It connects beautifully to why I wanted to become a therapist, to help others on their “peridot journey”:  to help find peace of mind, emotional balance and happiness.
